Renovations to a garden apartment including internal & external alterations.
Client brief:
This small scale project was to assist new home owners and their two small boys with alterations to an existing 74 sqm garden apartment situated within a block of 4 units.
Design solution:
The solution included a bathroom and kitchen re-design and internal alterations to improve the connection between living spaces, and increase the natural light and ventilation into the core of the home.
Joinery was incorporated in the living room to improve storage capacity and ceiling fans where added throughout the home to assist with passive cooling. A new raised deck with built-in seating was added off the living area to create a more functional and usable outdoor space. The design and specification work was completed within 2 weeks, and construction within 6 weeks so that the family were able to move into their new home within 2 months of settlement.
